Students can choose to enroll in one of the 16 postgraduate programs housed within 3 Academic divisions at KAUST: Biological, and Environmental Science and Engineering, Physical Science and Engineering, and Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Science and Engineering. Students benefit from a student to faculty ratio of 7 to 1, as well as a rich campus life with student associations and interest groups ranging from STEM chapter organizations, to photography clubs and cultural language exchanges.In addition to small class sizes and research focused education, all students at the university can participate in entrepreneurship-focused events that are led by experts on topics ranging from design thinking to startup mentorship. The Innovation and Economic Development department also assists in students in a range of areas including entrepreneurship, technology transfer and startup funding.
Tuition fees
Tuition is fully-funded at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. All students receive the KAUST Fellowship which enables students to focus on their graduate studies , without worrying about their finances. The Fellowship includes:
Full tuition Annual stipend ranging between USD 20,000- USD 30,000, depending on qualifications and academic progression throughout the degree program Accommodation Medical and dental cost Relocation support Entry requirements
There is no minimum GPA requirement and admission is based on merit. Most admitted students have a GPA of 3.4 out of 4.0 or higher, however, the review committee bases their decision on your application as a whole. KAUST receives applications from all over the world, and our Admissions team are experts in different education systems and grading scales across the globe.In addition, you will be expected to have a minimum TOEFL score of 79 on the IBT, or 6.0 on the IELTS as every program at KAUST is taught in English. If you’ve received a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand, a TOEFL or IELTS score is not necessary.
