A private Jesuit university in California, Santa Clara University has been teaching students since it was first established in 1851. Now home to around 9,000 students, the university offers degrees through six colleges: School of Arts and Sciences, School of Education and Counseling Psychology, Leavey School of Business, School of Engineering, Jesuit School of Theology, and School of Law.

Interestingly, the university has remained on the same site ever since its inception and so many of the campus buildings have a fantastic sense of history. However, modern improvements have been made. Recent developments include a new baseball field, a basketball arena, a new Art and Art History Building and there are plans for a new dorm.
