Udmurt State University (UdSU) is a multidisciplinary higher educational institution located in one of the regions of the Russian Federation – the Udmurt Republic. Being established in 1931 as a pedagogical institution, it celebrates the reputation of the oldest HEI in the region. Since our foundation, we have graduated more than 150 000 students to serve the region, the country and the world.

Today UdSU is the biggest educational, research and cultural center of Udmurt Republic. It offers over 270 programmes in the Humanities, Sciences and Engineering on bachelor, master, doctorate and post-doctorate levels. The student body constitutes over 17 000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, including over 500 international students.

Since 2011 UdSU jointly with the University of Granada (Spain) has been implementing a joint study programme for gaining a double Bachelor degree in Philology (Russian and Spanish).

Research is another mission of the university aimed to create new knowledge and innovate for the benefit of society. There is a number of Scientific Schools at UdSU:

- Plant responses to abiotic and biotic stress;

- Socio-economic, educational and cultural processes in urban and rural spaces;

- Archeology, history and culture of the peoples of the Urals region;

- Methodology for comparing languages and linguistic cultures in diachronic and synchroic aspects;

- Theory and methodology of design;

- Modeling of innovative education in an unsteady cultural and technological environment;

- Economic metrology and qualimetry of labor;

- System-thought approach in forensics

- Udmurt and Finno-Ugric linguistics; dialectology; the history of Udmurt linguistics.

- Digital security systems

- Coordination and sorption processes of the formation of homo- and polynuclear heteroligand complexes in aqueous solutions of heavy metal salts

- University management in the context of global, national and regional challenges

- Ontology of the subject's social behavior

- Idiotypic mechanisms of immunoregulation

- Tourism development in the Udmurt Republic in the context of socio-cultural and socio-economic processes

- Linguistic mapping and historical lexicology

- Mathematical control theory and conflict interaction of groups of objects

- Regular and chaotic dynamics

- Geoecology of erosion-channel systems

- Structural and dynamic patterns of ecosystems of the Vyatka-Kama Cis-Urals

- Functional materials and coatings

- Evaluation of the quality of the training process in athletes based on the express analysis of heart rate variability taking into account the individual type of regulation.

With a strong focus on internationalization and aiming to integrate into the European and worldwide education areas, UdSU has been in cooperation with various universities and organizations in the CIS, Europe, Asia and America under over 50 international partnership agreements.
