Established in 1954, Universidad Austral de Chile (Austral University of Chile) is a research university based in the city of Valdivia, Chile, with its main campus on Isla Teja (Teja Island). It also has campuses elsewhere in Southern Chile, in the cities of Puerto Montt and Coyhaique. Currently ranked 701+ in the world, Austral University of Chile also features in the global top 150 for agriculture and the top 500 for medicine. The university is one of the eight Chilean Traditional Universities founded before the 1980s.
