Located in the Colombian Caribbean region, the University of Magdalena is located in the port city of Santa Marta – the most historical city in Colombia, and second oldest city in South America. The University of Magdalena has received high quality institutional accreditation from the Ministry of National Education, making it the second public university in the Caribbean region to receive this distinction.
The university is also recognized for its environmental and social responsibility policies, supporting the ten principles of the UN Global Pact and PRIME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) initiative. Not to mention, being the only public entity of the Magdalena department with an A+ financial qualification.
