Beyond the classroom, Undergraduate students at UFRGS can find many extracurricular opportunities such as teaching experiences (monitoring, teaching introduction, tutorial education programs, education programs for work in health environments), research projects and technological development (scientific initiation, technological development initiation) and outreach projects. Such opportunities emphasize the connection between teaching, research and extension projects in the student's learning process. Academic mobility is also being strengthened every year, characterizing the University's inclusion both nationally and internationally. Student exchanges, internships and double degrees, are developed with many national and foreign Education Institutions for both Undergraduate and Graduate courses. UFRGS also develops Student Support Programs, which offer extra classes in fields such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Portuguese and English. The Student Assistance Program (SAE), for example, promotes the success of their courses, aiming to enhance and assist in various academics. In its search for academic excellence, UFRGS has taken leadership positions in the national and international academic scene with its Undergraduate and Graduate courses.
