The University of Danang (UD) has 10 member units participating in undergraduate training including: University of Science and Technology (DUT), University of Economics (DUE), University of Education (UED), University of Foreign Language Studies (UFL), University of Technology and Education (UTE), VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK), Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy (FMP), School of Information and Communication technology (SICT), Falculty of Physical Education (FPE), UD’s Branch in Kon Tum (UDKT) and College of Information Technology.
The number of the learners at undergraduate level up to 31/12/2017 is 46.100 full-time students, 6.300 part-time students, and 2.200 distance training ones. In 2017, the total number of graduates from UD is 10.700.
The organization and management in training of the UD are done into two levels:
The UD conducts students recruitment and issues general regulations on training to ensure the coordination of training among member units. Member universities and schools organize and implement the training, concretize the regulations according to the characteristics of each unit.
Students recruitment
UD organized the national entrance examination for student recruitment in many years before 2014. Since 2015, UD recruits students according to the results of the national high school graduation exam. The enrollment score to entrance in the UD's member universities and schools for many years is always in the top ranking of the country. About 11000 new students enter UD every year.
Study programs
UD currently has 133 training disciplines in various fields including:
Training technical engineers and architect at DUT and technology engineers at UTE. Training in economics, management at DUE, Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences, Social Science at UED, VNUK, UDKT Training teachers at UED, UFL, UTE Training foreign language students at ULF Training doctors, bachelors in the field of medicine at SMP
In addition, UD also training college degree in College of Information Technology and UTE.
UD has embarked on the credit-based training system since 2006. Duration of medical doctor training is in 6 years, from 4 to 5 years for engineers, 4 years for bachelor and 3 years for college.
Most of the study programs at UD’s member are in Vietnamese. There are also programs taught entirely in English including 2 advanced programs at DUT and 3 programs at VNUK. UFL is responsible for teaching foreign languages to students at all UD’s member universities and college. Graduates must reach grade 3/6 of 6 foreign language scale of Vietnam.
UD has currently 5 internationally accredited programs. Three PFIEV programs are accredited by the CTI including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and information technology. The AUN-QA recognizes two advanced programs including embedded systems and telecommunication electronics.
