USask offers its more than 20,000 undergraduate students one of the most diverse range of academic programs in Canada, including colleges and schools of medicine, veterinary medicine, law, engineering, business, agriculture, arts & science, education, nursing, pharmacy & nutrition, physical therapy, dentistry, and kinesiology, with undergraduate degrees and certificates across more than 130 fields of study.
In addition to having the opportunity to study at one of Canada’s top research universities, students have access to innovative, cutting-edge facilities and programs that are unique in the Canadian post-secondary environment. One in four undergraduate students have a hands-on research experience while working on their degree, and one in 10 have that experience in first year—a rare thing at Canadian universities.
Student success is one of our top priorities. In addition to the many scholarships and bursaries, students are supported through numerous services including learning communities, access and equity services, the International Student and Study Abroad Centre, Aboriginal student centre, the new Student Wellness Centre, and an on-campus language centre offering English as a Second Language (ESL) programs and bridging programs that allow ESL students to take a university-level class while finishing their English language program.
Students have the opportunity to live on campus in one of our residences, located just steps away from classrooms and services. USask residences provide an unparalleled living environment for students. Students are part of a diverse and global community where they can develop life-long friendships and create lasting memories.
The university offers students the open and supportive community they need to succeed by encouraging diverse ideas, collaboration and interdisciplinary study. Students have the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in their field of study, whether by taking part in an internship or co-op program, participating in a field class, or by taking advantage of a study-abroad program at another Canadian or international institution.
The diverse community of students, staff and faculty creates an environment where all can feel welcome, and a culture of learning, growth and deeper understanding that extends beyond the classroom. More than 3,300 university students have self-declared as Indigenous and over 3,400 international students are enrolled every year.
