To apply for a master’s degree at the University of Science and Technology in China (USTC), you must be under 40, have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in China, pass the Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì (HSK) Chinese proficiency test to level four and have English language skills. Both master’s and PhDs at USTC take three years to complete. The documents you need are the complete application form, document showing you have a bachelor’s degree, a copy of your passport, an exam record, your resume, academic transcript, two letters of recommendation and HSK test results. International postgraduate students are eligible to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship to study at USTC, which waives tuition and provides accommodation, a monthly living allowance, and health insurance.
