The University of St.Gallen (HSG), Switzerland, was founded as a "Business Academy" in 1898 - in the heyday of the St.Gallen embroidery industry - and offered its first lectures in 1899. The HSG continues to pursue the goal of providing its more than 9,000 students with a practice-oriented education, guided by an integrative view of Management, Economics, Law, Social Sciences, International Affairs and Computer Science. With success: we have constantly been ranked among the top business schools in Europe. In the Financial Times Global Masters in Management Ranking 2020 we are placed 1st with the Master in Strategy and International Management.
