Welcome to the American University in Dubai - a private, academically and culturally inclusive institution of higher learning, providing a globally recognized American education. Established since 1995, the university is consistently ranked as one of the top universities in the GCC. AUD is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) in the USA and is officially licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education–Higher Education Affairs (MOE-HEA). AUD offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees and Certificates in Middle Eastern Studies and Professional Teaching.  In addition to courses in their chosen program/major, undergraduate students in all disciplines must follow a curriculum in Arts and Sciences. This is in fulfillment of the general education portion of their degree requirements. Through its Center for English Proficiency (CfEP), the university also conducts Intensive English programs designed to develop university-level English language skills in students requiring additional language study before commencing university.
