Karaganda State Medical University

Karaganda Medical University it is the leading medical university of Kazakhstan on training of qualified specialists for the healthcare system which has a high reputation in the field of educational, scientific and medical services. 

In 2018, the University was awarded 3 stars in the QS Stars rating.

In 2019, the University received the status of a research University.

Training is carried out in the following areas: health and social security (medicine), engineering, natural Sciences, and interdisciplinary. Training is conducted in Kazakh, Russian and English for 8 bachelor's degree programs, 9 master's degree programs, 4 doctoral programs, 29 residency programs, 7 secondary medical training programs, and additional professional education programs are implemented.

The University has a large number of foreign students from India, China, Armenia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Georgia, Pakistan, Germany, etc.

The University's strategic partners are Lund University (Sweden) and Vilnius University (Lithuania). In addition, we cooperate with 107 foreign organizations in Sweden, France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Greece, Finland, Poland, Croatia, Bulgaria, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, India, Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, etc.

The University is included in the World Directory of Medical Schools, WHO, is a member of the associations AMEE, ASME, ORPHEUS, EUA, UMAP, IADE, AMEA.

The University's infrastructure includes a simulation center with high-tech simulators and dummies, a research center and a laboratory of molecular genetics, and the University's own clinics, including a dental clinic.

The University is accredited by the Independent Agency for accreditation and rating according to the wfmo standards.

More than 35 thousand highly qualified specialists, graduates of the University, successfully and fruitfully work in all regions of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad. Three graduates of the University in different years served as the Minister of health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
