Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University

The Republican State Enterprise with the right of economic management "Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter Korkyt Ata KSU) was formed on the basis of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda Humanitarian University and the I. Zhakhayev Kyzylorda Polytechnic Institute.

         History of creation:

         1937 - the Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute was opened on the basis of the Far Eastern Korean Pedagogical Institute;

         1952 - the Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute is named after N.V. Gogol;
         1992 - the N.V. Gogol Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute is named after the philosopher of the Great Steppe - Korkyt Ata;

         1996 - the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute is reorganized into Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda Humanitarian University;

1998 - the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University was established by the merger of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda Humanitarian University and the I.Zhakhayev Kyzylorda Polytechnic Institute . 

Educational activities are organized at 6 Institutes and 30 departments. The training is implemented for over 5200 students in 81 Bachelor, 32 Master, and 12 PhD  educational degree programmes respectively.

         Since 2004 the quality management system (QMS) of the university has been introduced and certified in the Korkyt Ata KSU. The international certificate of the QMS of the University issued by the Quality Management System Certification Agency "Techcentre-Register" (Moscow, Russia)  complies with the requirements of ISO 9001-2015.

         In December 2017 the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University passed institutional accreditation (certificate № 0085 of December 25, 2017).
         80 educational programs of the Korkyt Ata KSU including 47 bachelor's, 26 master's degrees and 7 PhD doctoral studies have passed specialized accreditation through the Independent Kazakhstan Agency for Quality Assurance in Education.
         In accordance with the order of the Chairman of the Committee for Control in the sphere of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 31, 2016, the dissertation council was was opened at the university for a period of 3 years for awarding degree Ph.D. in 6D072900 - "Construction" and 6D073000 - Production of construction materials, products and structures".

         The Korkyt Ata KSU is a member of the European Association of Higher Educational Institutions (EURASHE-2005), the Eurasian-Pacific University Network of high schools (EURASIAUNINET-2005), the Magna Charta Universitatum (2005), the Eurasian Association of Universities (EAU-2011) and the Association of Asian Universities (AAU-2017), Association of Economic Universities of South and East Europe and Black Sea Region (UNICA-2019).
         Scientific journal "Bulletin of Korkyt Ata KSU", the multi-copy newspaper "Syr Tuleghi" are published at the university.

According to the National rating of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 2019 of the Independent Kazakhstan Agency for Quality Assurance in Education , the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University ranks the ninth among multidisciplinary universities in the Republic of  Kazakhstan.
