Satbayev University provides undergraduate programs in the areas of mining, architecture, construction, biochemical engineering, ecology, chemical and industrial engineering, cybernetics, and information technology. University graduates undergo programs that are most modern and popular nowadays, such as Robotics and Mechatronics, Mathematical and Computer Modeling, and Mathematical Economics and Data Analysis.

The university offers full-time study in three languages: Kazakh, Russian and English. Education is conducted on a paid basis and grants. The academic year begins in late August and consists of two semesters. Candidates submit documents for admission office through the university’s online application system and are interviewed in person or on Skype.

Education is based on a credit system. The university accepts candidates for study in a certain direction, combining several programs. After passing the basic disciplines, the student chooses a specialization, and if desired, the main and additional specialties.

University programs are often updated and modernized to be able to match the global requirements of the educational process and the labor market. So students with a bachelor's degree can receive a second higher education as distance education. From the first year of study, students can participate in research projects and the international olympiad movement.

Student life at Satbayev University is not limited only to the study process: the university has a sports club and international student organizations such as Enactus, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
