Satbayev University

Satbayev University provides undergraduate programs in the areas of mining, architecture, construction, biochemical engineering, ecology, chemical and industrial engineering, cybernetics, and information technology. University graduates undergo programs that are most modern and popular nowadays, such as Robotics and Mechatronics, Mathematical and Computer Modeling, and Mathematical Economics and Data Analysis.

The university offers full-time study in three languages: Kazakh, Russian and English. The academic year begins in late August and consists of two semesters. Candidates submit documents for admission office through the university’s online application system and are interviewed in person or on Skype. The University has one of the strongest distance education programs in Kazakhstan. Together with the internal Polytech Online service, students use Zoom, Skype, Google Class and MicrosoftTeams, and Satbayev University provides access to the last program. 

Education is based on a credit system. From the first year of study, students can participate in research projects and the international olympiad movement and in the second or third year of study - take part in the academic mobility program. Every year, Satbayev University students take part in the study process in the countries of the CIS, Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Asia.

Close ties with industry, as well as internships in such companies as Microsoft, Siemens, Schlumberger, Halliburton help the university to give students practical skills in solving real industry problems. 88% of students go to work where they have had an internship.

Student life at Satbayev University is not limited only to the study process: the university has a sports club and international student organizations such as Enactus, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
