South Kazakhstan State Pedagogical University

South Kazakhstan State Pedagogical University (SKSPU) is the flagship of teacher training in Kazakhstan.

The mission of the university is the training of professionally competent specialists of a new formation that meet the requirements of society, the education system and the labor market.

The vision of the university is adhering to an effective corporate governance system in all areas of the university’s activities, to become one of the methodological centers and leaders of higher pedagogical education in Kazakhstan that meets international standards.

The university was founded in 1937. For 82 years, the university has made a great contribution to the education and training of the younger generation of the republic. More than thousands of its graduates have become honored teachers, excellent students of Kazakhstan's education. In 2013, South Kazakhstan State Pedagogical University received the certificate of the« Best University of the Region» from Oxford University (Great Britain).

Today, the university provides high-quality educational services and provides training for competitive professional staff that meets the needs of a developing domestic market and international standards and requirements.

One of the main goals of the university is to achieve competitiveness in the global educational space, the demand for knowledge and innovative educational technologies of the university on the basis of fundamental research for sustainable innovative development of the region and the country, the creation of conditions for the specialist to develop the qualities of a citizen and patriot, a person who creates the historical process and knows how to develop its relevance as the most important characteristics of human capital, the education of a confident and competitive personality of a citizen and patriot with professional and social competence.

The university consists 6 faculties:

2.       Faculty of Natural Sciences

3.       Faculty of Physics and Mathematics

4.       Pedagogy and Humanities Faculty

5.       Professional and Creative Faculty

6.       Faculty of Physical culture and Sports

Educational activities at the SKSPU are conducted according to a three-level training system: undergraduate - graduate - doctoral PhD. Personnel are trained in more than 67 specialties, of which 34 are undergraduate, 22 are graduate, 11 are doctoral studies. The total number of students of the SKSPU is 5535. The number of foreign students is 1485.

Currently, over 354 teachers are engaged in pedagogical activities at the university. The best scientists and specialists with practical experience, leading scientists from countries near and far abroad are involved in the educational process. The material and technical base of the university consists of three educational buildings of a modern type, a sports complex, and five student dormitories.

Сlassrooms, computer classes are equipped with modern technology. Since 2016 year, a trilingual education system has been introduced, the teaching of special disciplines in certain specialties is conducted in English. Multilingual student groups are opened.

 SKSPU is visited by guests from Kazakhstan, near and far abroad. At the same time, the leadership, the student community, the faculty of the university have the opportunity to discuss problems with them in the different field.
