Brunel UniversityLondon is a campus-based university situated in Uxbridge, West London, and ishome to nearly 13,000 students from over 100 countries worldwide. Founded in1966, our distinctive mission is to combine teaching and research excellencewith the practical and entrepreneurial approach pioneered by its namesake,Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Central Londoncan be reached in only 45 minutes by Uxbridge underground station, so it is astraightforward journey into the centre of the capital. There is a bank, a pharmacy,and a general shop where you can buy groceries, newspapers, stationery and eventop up your phone card. The Computer Centre sells a range of IT-relatedproducts such as printers, network cables, memory sticks and disks, and theStudents’ Union hosts a weekly fruit and veg market and Fairtrade stalls.Student life The Brunel campus has a lively and friendly atmosphere and thereis plenty for students to do outside of their studies within the modern andself-contained surroundings of the campus. In addition to on-campus cafes, barsand a nightclub, the Union of Brunel Students helps to organise and fund around100 clubs and societies. The performing and visual arts are also catered for atBrunel with a range of performances and extra-curricular activities. With itsconvenient proximity to London, students enjoy all that the city has to offerincluding its famous landmarks i.e. Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament,world-class theatre, cutting-edge music and restaurants to suit all tastes.Brunel International offers a comprehensive range of day trips e.g. Oxford,Cambridge and Windsor Castle and to mainland Europe.
