The Universidad Técnica de Oruo (Oruro Technical University), or UTO, is one of ten public universities in Bolivia.
The university was created on 15 October 1892 as Distrito Universitario de Oruro. It changed its name in 1937 to Universidad San Agustín and finally adopted its present name in 1941.
The University has seven Faculties and 36 careers, which establish a 5-year or 10-semester academic offer. Decentralization of Academic Units has also been carried out, with curricular programs and designs that allow for their professionalization under the same conditions as the Careers that are located in the capital city, taking into account the potential of each region and / or productive vocation.
